Our Design Philosophy
The design process can be daunting to the average client. It’s easy to get overwhelmed by all of the decisions, to see a mountain instead of a mole hill. Niemann Interiors has a simple philosophy about how to maneuver and move through the design process. We call it the “Puzzle Approach”.
Think about it! A puzzle can have up to 1000 pieces or more. A design project can require 1000 decisions or more. Imagine a brand new puzzle in a plain white box. The puzzle is without an image because there is no design. All the pieces are blank. So what is the first task when you start a puzzle? Open the box and spill out all of the pieces, and find all of the end and corner pieces, right?! Before you know it, you’ve connected them and established a frame…..your Design Scope.
How do you want the fished project/puzzle to look? Is it contemporary, traditional, industrial, eclectic? Is it a home, resort, lobby, time share, restaurant, or bar? At Niemann Interiors, we work collaboratively with our client to establish the Design Direction, discussing any special concerns and functional needs, while of course addressing the “B” word….budget.
And so it begins! As each design decision is made, and we fit one puzzle piece to another, the puzzle pieces magically change from all white to images with color and form. When the final piece is placed (don’t we all love that feeling!) and the puzzle is done and our design is complete, we are awed by its beauty.
We have made over 1000 decisions, solved problems along the way, and have created an innovative and personal design for our client. Together we have created their work of art. We have finished THEIR PUZZLE.
